Dear New Jersey Taxpayer,

The Board of Trustees of the New Jersey Taxpayers’ Association would like to wish
you and your family a happy and prosperous New Year in 2012!

Since our inception, members of the NJTA have been advocates of common sense
tax reform initiatives designed to help ease the financial burden placed upon all
New Jerseys’ residents.  As the majority of our elected representatives continued
down the road of increased taxation and unchecked spending, grass roots
members of the NJTA held our ground by demanding fiscal responsibility from our
elected leaders.

It seems like only a few years ago, concepts such as reforming public employee
pensions, tenure and health benefits, were problems that very few politicians
wanted to stick their necks out to fix.  Shared services and municipal consolidation
efforts were only being discussed in theory; and efforts to bring the state’s 19th
century cash management system into the 21st century was still not even being
discussed.

Today, our ideas and proposals are being discussed and implemented as viable
options to solving our state’s continued financial crisis.  It really goes to show how a
few short years and much persistence can make a world of difference.

We anticipate 2012 to be a year of continued implementation of the initiatives our
organization develops and promotes.  The Board of Trustees of the NJTA will
continue to advance its bold agenda of tax reform initiatives through continued
interaction with our local, county and state political leaders, as well as increased
membership outreach activities throughout the New Year.  In fact, the NJTA is
positioned to double its membership roster within the next three months.

As we continue to win the debate regarding tax reform in New Jersey, we need your
help more than ever!  As you ring in the New Year, we ask that you make three
small resolutions as a member of the New Jersey Taxpayers’ Association.
